Evaluation of Inoculation Methods for Determination of Winter Wheat Resistance to Fusarium Head Blight

چکیده
One of the most severe winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) diseases is Fusarium head blight (FHB). It believed that selection for resistance to FHB better in high disease pressure environments, which various methods artificial inoculation are used. The standard spray method be technically demanding and labour intensive. Therefore, scattering Fusarium-infected maize stalks onto trial plots after emergence suggested as a suitable alternative. aim this study was compare mean values heritability visual rating index (VRI) percentage Fusarium-damaged kernels (FDK) between two abovementioned natural infection, determine phenotypic correlations three studied traits. achieved levels VRI FDK were comparable considerably lower under conditions. Heritability ranged over four years from 0.68 0.91 method, 0.73 0.95 infected stalks, 0.26 0.65 whereas it 0.56 0.85, 0.38 0.83, 0.11 0.44 methods, respectively. strong positive correlation applied traits suggests could serve reliable supplement labor-intensive inoculation.

Using resistant cultivars is an effective method in management Zymoseptoria tritici Blotch and Fusarium Head Blight of wheat. This study was conducted to identify new sources of resistance to these diseases among a large number of Iranian cultivars and new wheat genotypes. The genotypes were cultivated in an augment design in the research farm of Aliabad Katoul Agricultural School. Artificial c...
متن کاملWhole Genome Association Mapping of Fusarium Head Blight Resistance in European Winter Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)
A total of 358 recent European winter wheat varieties plus 14 spring wheat varieties were evaluated for resistance to Fusarium head blight (FHB) caused by Fusarium graminearum and Fusarium culmorum in four separate environments. The FHB scores based on FHB incidence (Type I resistance)×FHB severity (Type II resistance) indicated a wide phenotypic variation of the varieties with BLUE (best linea...

متن کاملIdentification of Kernel Proteins Associated with the Resistance to Fusarium Head Blight in Winter Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)
Numerous potential components involved in the resistance to Fusarium head blight (FHB) in cereals have been indicated, however, our knowledge regarding this process is still limited and further work is required. Two winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) lines differing in their levels of resistance to FHB were analyzed to identify the most crucial proteins associated with resistance in this speci...
